Yvonne LeMire, a sculptor, jeweler and certified welder works out of her studio and gallery located in Marquette, Michigan near the shore of Lake Superior. She is employed at Northern Michigan University where she has taught welding since 2000. She joined the Studio Gallery in 1996 as an assistant and became gallery manager and an exhibiting artist. In 2008 she opened Fern Place Art Space with two partners. She has won numerous awards and commissions, was included in the March/April 2007 edition of Art Showcase Magazine in The Art of Michigan’s Upper Peninsula segment and was a feature story in 1999 for Michigan Radio’s Arts and Humanities Radio Project.
